Luzhai Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located in The positive layer type is the cross section of the Zhai Sand in the Luzhai County of Guangxi (E 109° 58′ 00″; N24° 29′ 00″), and Feng Jingan, etc. in 1928. It was named by Feng Jinglan in 1928.
Lithology and Thickness
Claystone. Gray-black thin-bedded mudstone with siliceous rock, limestone and sandstone. The formation is 50 - 200m thick.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformably contact with the Wuzhishan Formation.
Regional extent
The Luzhai Fm is widespread in the central Guangxi Depression. Guangxi Luzhai, Nandan, Heyuan, Baise, Nanning, Liuzhou, Guilin, Hexian, etc.

It contains chrysanthemum, conodont, brachiopods, ostracods, Omatata, corals, trilobites and plants.
Age
Depositional setting
The organic-rich black shale was mainly deposited in the basinal facies environment around isolated platforms with the maximum thickness of more than 200m in the northwest area of the Guangxi Depression.
